Continuing with the next step of our Supply Chain Execution platform strategy, we are happy to announce the availability SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) 9.5 and SAP Transportation Management (TM) 9.5. The latest releases deliver significant new innovations as well as operational and performance improvements. Thus, customers can operate their logistics as a seamless entity.
Innovations in SAP Extended Warehouse Management 9.5 contain significant enhancements in Labor Management including ease of maintenance of engineered labor standards and travel distance as well as time-and-attendance enhancements for planning and reporting. A new Fiori transaction for pick-cart handling, enhancement in the Return Fiori app, and change-management for deliveries and orders address challenges in e-commerce fulfillment and help increase the ease of use for workers in the warehouse. Improvement in package building optimizes packaging while processes to consolidate partial stock quantities help optimize space utilization. This release also introduces the usage of core data service (CDS Views) technology for analytics, and continuous innovations and improvements to reduce cost of solution ownership.
As part of the same platform, the 9.5 release of SAP Transportation Management provides enhancements in planning processes, including the introduction of flexible decks and consideration of more robust packaging separators as well as flexible stop durations and integrated loading checks. All of these enhancements enable more flexible vehicle space optimization and more executable load plans. Significant changes to the transportation cockpit including planning across multiple screens and expanded means of personal configuration allow users to further tailor their primary workspace within SAP TM to be more productive. Freight forwarders benefit from this release because of enhancements in air cargo security, enhanced integration with Descartes’ Global Logistics Network (GLN) and simplified charge calculations specifically for the freight forwarders.
