Borealis Relies on Tight-Knit Cooperation

Borealis has now extended its cooperation with LOXXESS for the long term. Since 2009, LOXXESS has been responsible for some areas of warehouse logistics for plastic granulate at the plant of Borealis Polymere GmbH in Burghausen, a subsidiary of Borealis AG, Vienna.
On the plant premises of Borealis Polymere GmbH, LOXXESS operates in a 31,000 square meter storage area and in the loading area of the high-bay warehouse with 9,500 pallet storage spaces. The logistics tasks primarily include loading trucks and containers with pallet goods, including precisely checking, correcting and documenting the load securing and relocating within the plant. Bulk goods are loaded into silo trucks, among other ways, using a system designed and produced in-house. In this way, up to 2,000 tons of bulk goods are loaded per month.
In cooperation with the technical project group of LOXXESS, this area is currently being expanded to include a fully automatic, state-of-the-art system. This is not only being done with the aim of reducing the physical loads for employees, but it also ensures very high customer-specific requirements in the future.
