OTTO FUCHS is the European market leader in the manufacture of forged wheels for the automotive industry. The company invests into a new surface and logistics center at its Meinerzhagen location to promote its growth. Unitechnik will realize a part of this large-scale project. We will implement the 34 m tall high-bay warehouse (HBW), in which wheels and raw goods that are ready for dispatch will be stored temporarily in the future.
The challenge: The HBW with 8,100 locations must be optimized for the automated handling of EWPS pallets (EWPS = European Wheel Pallet System). These carriers, on which layers of wheels are stacked up to a height of 2 m, are used in three different sizes. When it comes to warehouse equipment, we developed a customized solution for the optimum use of space. For example, the stacker cranes allow the transverse and double deep storage of the EWPS pallets. Our warehouse management system UniWare ensures smooth control of material flows in the facility. The result: space-saving storage and time-efficient picking of the high-quality wheels.
As a company grows, so do the demands on its internal logistics. FLURO, a specialist in spherical bearings and spherical heads, has turned to Unitechnik Systems GmbH for the construction of its new logistics facility.
