IFS certification with w3/max

26.03.2019

The Frische- und Gefrierzentrum Rheine GmbH started operations on the premises of the subsidiary of the Dutch NewCold Group in 2014. The new freshness and freezing centre with a 120-ton high-performance freezer system is available for the interim storage and shock freezing of poultry and meat products. The company's range of services includes storage, order picking and packaging as well as the nationwide distribution of frozen products and ice cream.

The warehouse management system w3/max is already used in a number of deep-freeze warehouses and has proven itself with the special requirements of this user group. As a software specialist for deep-freeze logistics, w3logistics offers special functionalities for the deep-freeze industry in addition to the basic functions of such a system. The flexible and broad-based warehouse management is also characterized by the fact that it can be supplemented at any time according to new customer requirements.

The »International Featured Standard« (IFS) describes a series of food, product and service standards that are intended to ensure that certified companies produce or provide services in accordance with the specifications agreed with the customer and constantly work on process improvement. Certification according to »IFS Logistics« documents the seamless quality along the production chain. The additional modules developed in w3/max, which were specially adapted to the customer's needs, are particularly helpful in the context of the coveted IFS certification.

The newly added time lock after freezing should enable the logistics service provider in the future to block out goods that have already been shock frozen in the warehouse area for a certain period of time. In addition, it will be ensured that the batches of packaging material that has to be handled in batches are tracked. Processes are accelerated through additional lists on which the possible packaging material is listed and a faster traceability of any batches.

The audit for IFS certification took place in March 2019. Mr. Schaffran, warehouse manager of Frische- und Gefrierzentrum Rheine GmbH, is satisfied: »With w3logistics AG, we have a trustworthy partner at our side who can organize our entire logistics future-oriented. As always, the cooperation was excellent«.
