Bischof Transport GmbH relies on the EPG ONE Suite

07.10.2025

A New Foundation for Intralogistics.

Bischof Transport GmbH, a leading Austrian logistics provider specializing in food and frozen goods, is laying a new foundation for its intralogistics. Building on the positive experience with LYDIA Voice, the pick-by-voice solution from EPG (Ehrhardt Partner Group) that has been in use for two years, Bischof has once again chosen the software specialist for the comprehensive modernization of its IT landscape. Going forward, the company will manage all warehouse processes with the LFS warehouse management system. Starting in 2026, the Contract and Billing solution CNB will further expand the system landscape and take over key tasks in contract and billing management. With the decision to implement the EPG ONE Suite, Bischof is creating a future-proof foundation that ensures efficiency, transparency, and flexibility across all business areas.

The decision to implement a full supply chain execution system is based on positive experiences from recent years. For two years, Bischof has successfully used LYDIA Voice in order picking. The voice-driven solution has proven itself in daily operations and significantly improved both process reliability and ergonomics for employees. »LYDIA has shown us how modern software can sustainably simplify our daily work. Employee acceptance was very high from day one. That was an important signal because it showed us that EPG solutions are a natural fit for our company,« says Michael Beck, Project and Process Manager at Bischof Transport. At the same time, it became clear that the warehouse management software used up to this point could no longer meet rising demands. »We were faced with a situation where our core warehouse software had not only reached its limits but also no longer offered us long-term security. For a company of our size, that poses an existential risk,« Beck explains.

Decision after tender process and reference visits

In search of a future-ready solution, Bischof launched a structured selection process. A Europe-wide tender and a reference visit to a major Swiss customer ultimately led to the decision in favor of the EPG ONE Suite. The decisive factors were the strong functionality of LFS and CNB, the project team’s deep process expertise, and the proximity to the Swiss market, where Bischof operates key business segments. »We evaluated vendors ranging from international corporations to niche providers. In the end, it was clear: EPG understands not only software but also our processes,« Beck continues. »Close coordination with our project team, the willingness to take our specific requirements seriously, and the clear roadmap for the coming years convinced us.«

Flexibility as a key factor for a mid-sized company

For a mid-sized company like Bischof, the adaptability of its systems plays a central role. Many applications are developed in-house, especially for the seasonal business with its short-term requirements. This agility should also be reflected in warehouse management. The new system allows processes to be adapted quickly, interfaces to be designed independently, and work to continue independently of release cycles. »Our industry is heavily influenced by seasonal fluctuations. We must be able to respond quickly to order peaks and need systems we can configure and adapt ourselves. With LFS, we have exactly that flexibility without having to give up a stable standard software,« says Beck.

A unified system across warehousing and transport

In addition to its core warehouse business, Bischof operates an extensive transport division. With the introduction of CNB next year, an integrated system will be created that unifies contract and billing management, customs clearance, and transport integration on one central platform. This will not only increase transparency but also improve efficiency in working with customers, partners, and authorities. »Especially in international transport, consistent data flows and clear billing processes are essential. CNB gives us the ability to consolidate all information from order entry through contract design to invoicing on a single platform,« Beck adds. In parallel with the introduction of these core systems, Bischof is already considering further optimizations. One of them is the planned integration of GREENPLAN, EPG’s award-winning solution for dynamic route planning. Particularly in the demanding fast-food delivery sector, GREENPLAN is expected to help optimize routes, reduce CO₂ emissions, and lower costs.

A partnership of equals

The foundation for long-term collaboration was already laid during the proposal phase. Personal exchanges with EPG management strengthened trust and showed that the partnership extends far beyond software implementation. »We see EPG not only as a solution provider but as a strategic partner. Together we pursue the goal of consistently developing our processes and strengthening our competitiveness in a sustainable way,« concludes the Project and Process Manager. EPG also emphasizes the collaboration. »Bischof is an extremely dedicated partner that approaches the project with clear goals and strong practical expertise,« says Michael Tüfer, Managing Director of EPG Switzerland. »The close, trust-based cooperation with the project team has impressed us from day one. We look forward to implementing innovative solutions together and supporting Bischof’s success story in the long term.«
