PSI Awarded Important Contracts in the Field of Energy from Germany and Austria

05.11.2008

New combined energies control systems for regional and municipal utilities

Along with the successful expansion into the Russian market, PSI continues along its successful course in the field of energy in Germany and Austria. The regional suppliers E.ON Thüringer Energie AG and E.ON Avacon AG as well as the municipal utilities Stadtwerke Aachen AG, Aschaffenburger Versorgungs-GmbH and SWU Stadtwerke Ulm/Neu-Ulm GmbH have charged PSI with the delivery of the combined energies control system for the management of the electricity and gas grids. The network control system for the Cologne RheinEnergie AG will be extended by PSI to include the management of the network of the Leverkusen energy supply, and with Burgenländische Elektrizitätswirtschafts-Aktiengesellschaft (BEWAG), an important new Austrian customer has been obtained. The total volume of the orders exceeds 12 million euros.

The synergies in the network operations are optimised with the use of PSI technology for the management of the electrical and gas networks. Here staff is supported by powerful functions such as topological evaluations in the pipe and electrical grid systems, failure analyses or integrated online simulation. With the orders obtained since the second quarter PSI has again strengthened its position as leading energy control system provider in the German-speaking market.

PSI AG develops and integrates individual solutions, on the basis of its own software, for the management of energy networks (electricity, gas, oil, heat, water), cross-company production management (steel, mechanical engineering, automotive, logistics) and infrastructure management for telecommunications, transport and safety. PSI was founded in 1969 and currently employs 1,100 persons in the group.
