27.03.2009

inconso achieves the best result in its history in fiscal 2008 despite the financial and economic crisis

Germany's leading consulting and software company for logistics solutions generated over € 38 million in sales revenues in the 2008 financial year, roughly 10% more than ithe year before. This included revenues frconsulting, integration and software, which grew at a similar pace. inconso AG once again boosted profits significantly in thefinancial year, generating earnings before taxes of € 4.9 million (previous year: € 4 million) according to its financial statements, which it prepared in accordance with the IFRSs for the first time. The operating margin rose from 11.3% to 12.5%. The order backlog was high at year-end. It already exceeded 75% of the net total operating revenue budgeted for 2009. Accordingly, the company expects to ratchet up revenues again this year despite the challenging market environment.

"We have an excellent position thanks to our successful inconsoWMS Product Suite, the new transport management solutions and SAP logistics portfolio," said Bertram Salzinger, CEO of inconso AG. "Our healthy order book and excellent financial structure with no bank loans make us even more confident that we will be able to continue developing the company successfully, even in the challenging environment of 2009."

The 345 employees at seven locations in Germany laid a solid foundation in 2008 for strengthening the company's positioning further. For example, inconso is now the number-one provider of SAP logistics solutions and has expanded the range of solutions it offers as part of the inconsoWMS Product Suite.

This includes a new solution for the automotive industry. The inconsoWMS Product Suite was also migrated to a new platform that uses state-of-the-art technology. Developed in Java, the inconso Windows Framework (IWF) serves as a common framework for enhancing and refining the inconso Warehouse Management Systems. The new features are the product of past experience and practical requirements.

inconso is one of very few providers who not only has extensive experience and countless high-profile references with warehouse management solutions based on its own products, but is also well-positioned in SAP-based logistics solutions with SAP EWM and LES. The company is an SAP Service Partner and Special Expertise Partner SAP for Supply Chain Execution (SCE). It implements SAP standard modules and SAP technology along the entire process chain, from the order in the SAP system to the PLC – even in sophisticated automated systems.

In addition to internal optimization, companies are also looking to manage their logistics networks more effectively. The new inconsoTMS now offers the ability to plan entire networks at once. Network planning provides new set routes based on historical data, forecasts or call-ups. Customers who need to manage the transport and warehouse management systems for multiple network partners can turn to a global system such as inconsoSCE. It allows all available network resources to be scheduled in a single application: people, equipment and transports – from goods staging to receiving, inspection and handling all the way to outbound transports.

"Our goal," said Bertram Salzinger, "is to make a significant contribution to enhancing our customers' logistics quality and streamlining their logistics processes. Our full order book and long track record confirm that our customers agree that we are close to our goal."
