Safety – TÜV certified KNAPP warehouse systems

06.04.2010

The safety technology used in KNAPP warehouse systems, such as the OSR-Shuttle and Speeder systems, complies with state-of-the-art standards.

KNAPP places a high value on safety, because logistic systems may have inherent risks. The safety technology used in KNAPP warehouse systems, such as the OSR-Shuttle and Speeder systems, complies with state-of-the-art standards. All access points to the system are secured with sensors. In order to make the necessary registration of rack line access as simple as possible and to minimize the number of necessary keys, an interlock system is used.

Interlock system

The proven principle of key exchange effectively prevents two people from entering the same area unknown to each other. At the same time, fast and safe access is guaranteed in all situations.

Modern safety standards

At the front and rear of each rack line are additional servicing platforms. Their purpose is easy and quick access to each rack and lift position, for example, for maintenance. The rack platforms provide a safe area for working at all heights without the need for personal safety equipment. The front platforms are joined by a walkway, making all rack lines accessible. From here a simple descent into the pre-zone and then to the conveyor system is possible.

The compliance with all norms and standards is certified by TÜV, and CE-compliance is confirmed. TÜV (German Technischer Überwachungsverein) is the name of an internationally recognized private sector organization in Germany that conducts technical safety tests, especially those required by national laws or regulations. Experts from TÜV support, train, certify and monitor both products and systems, during development and manufacturing as well as at machine purchase, operation or structural modification.
