PSIwms manages textile logistics at Marks & Spencer in Moscow

PSI subsidiary PSI Logistics GmbH won the order from Russian logistics service provider ItellaNLC back in autumn last year to supply the warehouse management system PSIwms for its client Marks & Spencer, one of the biggest retail chains in the world. Within the scope of a strategic partnership, PSI Logistics and ItellaNLC have already succeeded in implementing several logistics projects.

Less than 10 months into the project, PSI’s software is already ensuring the smooth management of all processes in the Moscow logistics centre. By focusing on hanging garments that must be placed directly in the hanging garment warehouse, which offers space for 5,000 articles, items can be hung more compactly according to Marks & Spencer’s preferences.

The logistics centre also comprises a modular shelving system with approx. 20,000 storage spaces for flat and boxed garments. Around 1,200,000 articles are stored in the warehouse at any one time, ready to supply over 20 retail outlets with up to 15,000 order lines per day. A complex, mobile radio data system enables automatic recognition of the different bar codes for articles, quantities and batches. Furthermore, all labelling and dispatch handling is carried out on the basis of Russian documentation, which can be printed out online from the PSIwms.
