Adam Hall Group commissionsJungheinrich to expand its central logistics warehouse in Neu-Anspach, Germany

09.02.2017

The Adam Hall Group, a leading German manufacturer and sales enterprise offering event technology solutions for business clients worldwide, has appointed Jungheinrich as its general contractor for intralogistics at its new warehouse.

The Adam Hall Group offers a wide range of professional audio and lighting technology, along with stage equipment and Flightcase hardware. Despite a total of more than 7,000 immediately available items, the existing central warehouse was already stretched to full capacity. So the size of the location needed to be nearly doubled. Jungheinrich was able to win over the client based on its extensive intralogistics expertise and the ability to offer all of the needed services from the same source, complemented by centralized Jungheinrich after-sales service, adding up to an ideally coordinated, complete solution. The solution includes a six-aisle narrow-aisle warehouse, equipped with two EKX Combi stackers and two EKS vertical order pickers, each of them outfitted with the “warehouseNAVIGATION” system. This navigation assistance system provides for a semi-automatic approach to the warehouse slots, resulting in a time savings of up to 25 percent compared with purely manual operation. Jungheinrich is moreover installing a fully automated small parts warehouse with 17,000 storage slots, including order picking and packaging locations which are connected by a conveyor system. In this consolidation area, tower storage ensures accelerated processes and the packaging locations for pallets and boxes are all designed for fast and ergonomic order processing.

The Jungheinrich Warehouse Control System (WCS) allows the user to manage the storage slots in the small parts warehouse, ensuring the shortest possible distances for operating the stacker cranes as well as the conveyor equipment. The award-winning Jungheinrich Logistics Interface guarantees smooth communication between the warehouse management system and the narrow-aisle equipment.

“The processes at the Adam Hall Group require a great deal of flexibility in order picking and consolidation. We are able to deliver this based on the ideal combination of our Jungheinrich solutions,” states Dirk Vatareck, Senior Project Manager for Equipment Sales at Jungheinrich Logistiksysteme GmbH.

Work on the 16-meter high building is already well underway. In spring of 2017, Jungheinrich will begin assembling the steel construction elements, with the warehouse commissioning planned for the third quarter of 2017.
