Automating manually operated warehouses via plug & play

Intralogistics specialist viastore presents its new autonomous warehouse and order picking solution, viarobot – a robotic system that allows operators to automate their conventional manual warehouses quickly, easily and flexibly. viarobot doesn’t require additional infrastructure such as rails or special racks – existing shelving racks can still be used. The system automatically stores, retrieves and relocates containers and cartons, and transports them to the order picker. Thanks to the use of intelligent software, viarobot is rapidly ready for use and easily scaleable: If the warehouse is expanded or needs to cope with increased seasonal demand, viarobot is capable of growing along with the requirements by allowing the integration of additional robots and racks. The warehouse operator is free to position these racks according to the building structure. This flexibility is also beneficial in the event of a pending warehouse relocation: viarobot can simply be put into operation at the new site via plug and play. Compared to manually operated warehouses, the storage capacity is up to 40% higher, throughput increases by up to 20%, and the process reliability is significantly improved.

viarobot combines the great flexibility of manual warehouses with the advantages of automated systems. The high space utilization ratio, heightened process reliability and lowest error rates possible, as well as exceptional inventory reliability and transparency, combined with viarobot’s ability to work without interruption 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, provide a sound basis for future growth.

Industrial companies and manufacturers benefit from the fact that viarobot is quick and easy to install. This allows for swift solutions to be implemented, such as when capacity problems are an issue. Commercial enterprises, online shops and start-ups all benefit from the system’s advantage of being effortlessly scalable.

The robot operates at a speed of 6.56 feet per second and at storage heights of up to 13.12 feet. If the lithium-ion battery is running low, viarobot automatically drives to its charging station. In addition, the device can also work in the dark and in unheated environments. This reduces energy costs – especially during multi-shift operation.
