Founded in 1961, Stokomani started in the retail business with sale and discount shops. The brand is continually developing, attaining a network of 40 shops in 2012 and two logistics platforms covering a total area of 60,000m2. To support its strong growth (+20% in 2012) and maintain responsive logistics, this leading clearance retailer has had to perfect its processes and systems.
As Jean-Edmond Puig, Supply Chain Director at Stokomani explains "For our logistics sites we chose the Generix Group's WMS solution. Its modularity and powerful settings meant it could be adapted to our organisation and thus meet our objectives of improving processes, increasing capacity and reducing timeframes, which are inherent in switching from a paper model to an IT model."
The Generix Group's GCS WMS solution is a powerful warehouse management tool. By managing flows and storage accurately, GCS WMS is suitable for all types of products in numerous business sectors.
Its implementation has enabled Stokomani to significantly reduce its costs, notably of course by optimising space, but also in terms of time-savings through modified warehouse management, and justification of labour costs.
Jean-Edmond Puig continues, "Given our growth objectives: 15 additional shops and turnover of €300 million by 2016, the logistics must change. For example, we will need to interface the WMS with other service providers' solutions and be able to roll it out on a multi-site basis. This is why we have also adopted the Generix Group's GCI TradeXpress B2B integration platform. This choice and the strong growth of retail activities led us to approve GCS WMS."
Stokomani also chose to implement voice picking on its sites. Today, 80% of orders are picked effortlessly, thanks primarily to the voice technologies integrated in the GCS WMS.
Through its upgradeability and adaptability, GCS WMS is contributing to Stokomani's growth strategy of developing its storage areas: a new 5,000m2 unit is to be opened in early 2014 at its second logistics platform at Longueil. The Supply Chain Director is also planning the introduction of sorters in 2013.
