Better Life Commercial Chain Share Co., (Better Life) a Hunan-province based multi-format retailer listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, has selected a multimodal transportation management system (TMS) from Kewill to support its Big Logistics strategy.
The software, which is part of the Kewill MOVE® platform - a comprehensive end-to-end solution for managing the complexities of transportation, logistics and trade compliance, will support Better Life’s omni-channel retail operations across China by increasing automation, improving visibility and optimizing speed and efficiency of order fulfillment.
Recognized as one of China’s leading operators in the wholesale and retail business, Better Life operates supermarkets, department stores, convenience stores and hypermarkets, as well as retailing household electrical appliances. Based in Xiangtan, it has over 300 multi-format stores operating out of Hunan, Jiangxi, Sichuan, Chongqing, Guangxi, and Guizhou provinces in China.
The web-based Kewill software will allow Better Life to manage both its own extensive fleet of vehicles and drivers and its network of multimodal transportation partners through a single platform, selecting the best combination of carrier service and rate and tracking performance against key performance indicators (KPIs). The solution enables easy planning of equipment, drivers and shipments, while track and trace of shipments throughout the network and automated status updates ensure exceptions can be identified and managed effectively so that orders are continually delivered reliably to schedule.
