After the renowned multicube rhein-neckar, pfenning Group has constructed a second logistics center in Monsheim known as multicube rheinhessen, which went into operation 01 December 2018. Once again, pfenning relies on their established WMS LogoS, which reliably maps widely different client requirements from various industries in multi-stock structures.
Located in the border region of Baden-Wuerttemberg, Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate, the building, which was planned and constructed within only 18 months, has been designed as a multi user center. Featuring a total storage space of 63,000 square meters, it consists of multiple, seamlessly linked halls which can be used and adapted as single modules by customers in a flexible way. For example, temperature-sensitive food for Edeka Foodservice can be stored in one hall, while orders for the online trading of consumer products for the customer Cybex – manufacturer of Juvenile Products – are commissioned and prepared for shipment behind the next gate. The space features also WHC and special areas e.g. for the processing of value-added services. In total, approximately 200 users work at the new logistics site.
The new main customer CYBEX, one of the global market leaders for strollers, child seats, high chairs and baby carriers has moved into multicube rheinhessen 1 December 2018. The project has been realized by pfenning and Gigaton within only one month using a standard process implementation in the so-called phase 1, followed by further process implementations in phase 2.
In the meantime, CYBEX ships almost 800 consignments per day. The complete processing is entirely based on data radio using mobile end devices. In addition, the LogoS stacker control system is used for the optimized process handling. The data exchange between the WMS LogoS and CYBEX is fully automated. Both the GR advices and the delivery orders from the online shop for B2C as well as for the provision of the B2B trading are transmitted digitally via EDI.
The processes themselves are completely system optimized. Goods of different producers are delivered to the goods receipt, and deconsolidated following a detailed quality check and put in part into storage on a multi-level basis (e.g. in a high rack). The goods are put away in a chaotic manner using flexible putaway strategies in corresponding commissioning areas as well as replenishment areas. In the goods issue, a full pallet withdrawal, serial and dynamic commissioning strategies including automated replenishment controls are used. After that, the pallets are repacked according to the customer’s wishes and requirements, loaded via load list and timely shipped to the consignee.
