10.06.2003

LIS has today announced the availability of a certified interface between its Dispatcher-WMS (warehouse management system) and the iBaan Enterprise system from Baan

May 03 - LIS, a leading vendor of supply chain solutions, has today announced the availability of a certified interface between its Dispatcher-WMS (warehouse management system) and the iBaan Enterprise system from Baan - the leading enterprise application provider for industrial enterprises and part of Invensys plc. The jointly developed interface will allow Baan users to benefit more easily from the advanced functionality and real time control of the LIS WMS, enabling them to optimize complex and fast-moving logistics environments.

The interface is fully certified by Baan, which means that users can avoid the risk, costs, and delay associated with bespoke interfacing projects. It was developed in close cooperation with a joint Baan/LIS European customer, a leading distributor of technology products. Baan can now offer the solution to new and existing customers whose supply chain execution requirements call for a dedicated warehouse management system, tightly integrated with their ERP suite.

Paul B. Rajski, president of the Enterprise Business Unit and the Enterprise Enabling Technologies Business Unit at Baan, said: “With the additional capability delivered by LIS’s leading warehouse management system, we are extending the support we provide for industrial organizations looking to optimize the control of their enterprise functions.”

“The relationship with Baan is an important one for LIS and will help drive further growth in our key markets of Europe and North America,” commented Martin Hiscox, chief executive officer at LIS. “We believe that Baan shares our philosophy of combining world-class products with a thorough knowledge of local markets, and that the combination of the iBaan system and Dispatcher-WMS is a compelling choice for users in our target markets, such as third party logistics and electronics.”
