RedPrairie enhances support for complex distribution models

27.09.2010

Support for multi-container transport, service condition-based hub selection, dimensional validation added to version of solution

RedPrairie Corporation, a productivity solutions provider, announced new enhancements to its Transportation Management solution today, furthering its support of advanced distribution models that require a greater degree of flexibility for efficient global operations.

“Our organization continues to recognize the complex nature of distribution networks worldwide,” says Mona McFadden, RedPrairie Product Manager, Transportation Products. “As a part of our synchronized solution development across workforce, inventory, store execution and transportation, RedPrairie’s efforts over the past year have focused largely on our ability to support those networks, especially ones involving multi-national and multi-modal transportation practices.”

Included among the many enhancements to RedPrairie’s suite of products, Transportation Management now features functionality for:

  • Optimizing the use of multiple containers on the same move
  • Automated shipment routing to preferred hubs based on required service conditions
  • Matching specific freight dimensions with appropriate equipment

Potential users can view Transportation Management’s many new applications by attending this year’s CSCMP Annual Global Conference in San Diego from September 26-29, 2010, and scheduling a demo at booth #0903, or by e-mailing info@redprairie.com.
