Solvo.TOS Deployment Finished at Container Terminal FSC

25.11.2011

Container Terminal FSC finished the deployment of Solvo.TOS and the project for complex terminal automation.

The Container Terminal FSC, a subsidiary of the Sea Port of Saint Petersburg and a part of the Universal Cargo Logistics Holding, finished the deployment of the Solvo.TOS designed and developed by SOLVO, a Russian leading developer of logistics software solutions.

FSC started its operation in end January 2011. Since May 2011, Solvo.TOS is used to manage the terminal. As an integrated and comprehensive solution, Solvo.TOS includes two subsystems, such as Solvo.CTMS designed to perform operative planning and management of all terminal operations and Solvo.DMS designed to automate document management operations as well as container and vehicle processing functions.

With the help of the Solvo.TOS system, FCS's customers can now benefit from a guaranteed time of order processing, an ability to have detailed post-operation reports, and other new features to handle containers, such as quick replacements of containers in vessel shipments, extra inspections, weighing, repacking, delivery of empty containers according to specified criteria, etc.

"Customers and workers of the container terminal can now schedule the vessel processing procedures, control loading and unloading operations in real time, perform EDIFACT-based document management, quickly generate reports about any terminal operations, including customs inspections, container weighing, vehicle arrivals and departures, railroad transfers, etc.," said Alexey Bondar, Deputy Director for IT, Container Terminal FSC.

All these functionalities have enabled FSC to provide its customers with high-quality services and to operate well at the highly competitive market of container transshipment in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The ability to use modern electronic document management functions, to submit applications for container import and export via the web interface, and to use the time-slotting functionality have made it possible for the Fourth Stevedoring Company to attract major players, such as Maersk, Delta Shipping, APL, Team Lines, Sea Connect, and Atlantic Ro-Ro Carriers.
