SOLVO Rolls Out Latest System Version

29.07.2013

Solvo unveils the latest version of its system - Solvo.WMS 4.0

The new system version reflects the “growth points” of the system i.e. features, which are already available to company clients but are constantly being improved. This includes dynamic picking channels, multipicking, put-to-store, and EDI.

Picking channels serve for operative order picking of cartons and specific SKU units. Replenishment is initiated when the current SKU quantity dips below the minimum threshold. The replenishment priority is determined depending on the current quantity in relation to the minimum and optimal quantities. Dynamic channels are created and deleted by the Solvo.WMS system automatically. The manager can create and delete picking channels as well as edit the parameters of created picking channels based on the current orders’ requirements.

The advantage of using dynamic channels includes the conservation of space in the order picking zone as well as the inbuilt flexibility for configuring creation and restriction strategies.

The Multipicking feature makes it possible for the picker to simultaneously assemble several pick lists for various orders. This technology optimizes warehouse operations as a whole since it enables the picker to assemble multiple orders at the same time, minimizes empty runs, optimizes the pick path for established pick lists, whose quantity can be configures in the system. As a result, there is no need to perform sorting after picking.

The Put-to-store feature makes it possible to perform a general pick during wave picking for various orders and then deliver them to order assembly locations. The picking velocity increases due to the reduction in empty runs – the SKU is immediately picked for a large number of orders and the route is optimized when delivering the picked items.

The latest version of Solvo.WMS enable the exchange of information on paper medium using electronic document flow based on EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) standards. EDI carries out semi-automatic creation of required documentation and reference lists where a stable connection is not established between the WMS and ERP system or an extended interface cannot be developed. Reference lists and documents are loaded from various types of files (txt, XML, CVS, XLS) sent via email or transferred from an external storage medium. A rule is created for processing external messages, which describes the processing strategies and sequence. Next, a document is selected and its type is specified for subsequent processing in Solvo.WMS. The system contains pre-established document and reference list templates in accordance with EDI standards; however, the option of configuring templates and loading nonstandard documents is also available.

Praise and positive feedback is already being received regarding the performance and new features of the latest version of Solvo.WMS, which is already up and running at SOLVO client warehouses.
