CIM GmbH demonstrates the future of picking

06.04.2017

Visitors to transport logistic can try out the company’s new picking systems ‘live’

CIM’s focus at transport logistic 2017 will be on simplified, integrative picking dialogs. With their new ‘Pick by Pics’ app and revamped user interface, the Fürstenfeldbruck software specialists will be presenting two innovative solutions for simple, efficient picking in the warehouse. Visitors will be able to try out both of the new applications at CIM’s trade fair stand.

Visitors to transport logistic will be able to experiment with the new app paired with a handheld scanner, tablet or smart glasses and use it to pick confectionery articles – the perfect energy boost for a busy day at the trade fair. They’ll see how it can track order and inventory updates in real time and display them on the PROLAG®World dashboard.

»The aim of our new developments is to make the user’s job as easy as possible«, explains Fritz Mayr, managing director of CIM GmbH. »We’ve seen how the relationship between software and user and workplace ergonomics are playing an increasingly key role in the logistics sector, too«, continues Mayr.

CIM’s software engineers have completely redesigned the graphic display of the picking dialog. The new interface is more clearly structured, with key information and tasks highlighted and prioritised in different colours. This allows users to process information at a glance, enabling them to complete their tasks more quickly and efficiently.

A major contribution to integration and inclusion

»Our ‘Pick by Pics’ solution is a step ahead«, comments Mayr. The application is virtually text-free, with simple pictograms guiding users through the tasks and processes in the warehouse. This means that a variety of different user groups can be fully integrated into the working environment. »Consider employees who have little or no knowledge of the German language«, says Mayr. »It’s much quicker and easier for them to memorise pictures rather than texts which are totally incomprehensible to them«. The app is also useful when it comes to training new staff. The simple visual language is easy to learn, shortening training periods and cutting costs.

Software flexibility is the order of the day

A further highlight at CIM’s stand this year will be the company’s very own UltraFlex technology. »We’ve noticed in previous years that more and more prospective customers are looking for a system which is standardised but flexible«, says Mayr. PROLAG®World is both of these things: »Our software is the culmination of over 30 years’ experience in software development and project management. Thanks to our UltraFlex technology, the software is also fully customisable to meet individual requirements.«

Visitors will have the chance to experience PROLAG®World and the new picking systems first-hand at transport logistic 2017 in Munich from May 9 to May 12. CIM GmbH cordially invites you to visit them at stand 331/432 in hall B2 where their logistics consultants will be available to answer any queries.
