History

SSI SCHAEFER - an overview

Since its inception in 1937, SSI SCHAEFER has been an owner-operated, German family company. With over 50 subsidiaries worldwide, SSI SCHAEFER is a strong and reliable partner.

SSI Schäfer Noell GmbH, Giebelstadt specialises in complex logistics systems to supplement the portfolio of services offered by the SSI Schaefer Group. The company has already installed more than 300 logistics systems around the world as general contractor. Its portfolio extends from systems planning and consultancy through to the implementation of turnkey systems and customised after-sales services, all of which are rounded off by innovative IT solutions, SSI Schaefer Group standards, such as WAMAS, and standards based on SAP technology. As a strategic SAP service partner, SSI Schaefer offers its customers a wealth of expertise from a single source in IT-related projects, ranging from advice on the fine-tuning of processes and technical aspects of IT hardware, through to implementation and the tailoring of customised, logistical SAP products.

SSI Schäfer Peem GmbH, Graz is a modular picking technology specialist. The company designs, develops and produces highly dynamic small parts conveying systems, together with automatic picking systems and the relevant applications. Its range covers standard conveying systems, automatic container handling systems, robot systems and automated quality checks when compiling orders.

As a strategic SAP Service Partner, we can offer you a comprehensive package of solutions for IT-based projects that extends from consultancy on process optimisation and technical IT hardware components to the implementation and the customisation of logistical SAP products - all from a single source. Depending on your warehouse concept, we offer you various services and solutions to realise your ambitions and bring about successful project conclusions. We use either the SAP EWM or SAP LES/TRM logistics modules according to the task in question.

In-depth SAP consulting

Our consulting services range from in-depth consultancy on process optimisation, including any manual procedures involved, as well as looking at the product spectrum required; we also offer our expertise in the selection of the relevant IT hardware, such as servers, wireless components and printers. In addition, our consulting involves providing objective advice in the planning and implementation of logistics IT while taking account of parallel and downstream processes and the impact on related ERP modules – a complete range of services suitable for both retrofit projects as well as brand new logistics systems. For instance, our SAP specialists will show you whether and how individual material flow and control functions can be integrated into SAP, what technological aspects need to be considered, which interfaces are required and where connections are possible that do not require media conversions and interfaces, and they will also develop the sustainable, future-proof migration and IT concepts required.

Future plans

We develop all our SAP projects using the SAP Solution Manager in order to ensure that the projects run efficiently and smoothly. From collating your requirements and the production of a functional specification through the implementation and test phase to going live and user training, our staff are totally familiar with the methods and functions of Solution Manager. Solution Manager handles all central planning and documentation tasks and controls the system configuration.

From the preparatory phase and planning through to the implementation and monitoring of the project – we support you at every stage, never losing focus and keeping the aims of your

Our WAMAS logistics software provides you with a tried and tested, upgradeable software product. WAMAS steers, controls, monitors and optimises the processes in manual, semi and fully automated warehouses. Consistent and transparent business processes visualised in WAMAS ensure flexible and efficient management of your logistics systems.

Together, we work out the optimal and most economical solution for your warehouse based on your core business processes. Our WAMAS systems provide you with tools that will improve warehouse performance, guide users easily and safely through the various processes and provide the information required to control the warehouse.

The standard version of WAMAS itself contains a large number of the business processes used in conjunction with a warehouse. It also has a range of customisation options that enable it to be configured to reflect your logistics processes.

Heterogeneity – diverse system solutions consolidated

The technological and functional strength of WAMAS also becomes apparent through the consolidation of the most diverse warehouse and order picking facilities – including combinations of automated and manual warehouse and picking systems – within a single system. WAMAS technology guarantees optimisation of the flow of goods across processes and functionalities as well as providing resource management across various warehousing zones.
