WMS upgrade brings new user interface to Kahmann & Ellerbrock

This year’s release upgrade of PROLAG World brings our redesigned WMS user interface to a long-standing customer.
Kahmann & Ellerbrock GmbH & Co. KG, one of Germany’s leading technical wholesalers based in Bielefeld, is set to benefit from the increased usability and intuitive design of the new templates.
The upgrade, which is offered through a software upgrade agreement, will also increase the stability of the system and the future viability of the company’s intralogistics across the board.

High optimisation factor at Kahmann & Ellerbrock thanks to WMS and production software from a single source
The latest upgrade to our current standard version of PROLAG World was recently installed at Kahmann & Ellerbrock (K&E), technical wholesaler and manufacturer of plastic semi-finished products with locations in Bielefeld (K&E) and Brandenburg (Plaschna & Co.). As a long-standing customer of CIM, Kahmann & Ellerbrock were already familiar with the functions of PROLAG World. The software originally installed covered the full range of warehouse management functionality, from shipping notification to goods issue. In cooperation with us, Kahmann & Ellerbrock expanded their PROLAG World software suite in 2015 by adding the PROLAG Production solution. Warehouse management and production control since come from a single source, offering unique benefits: Remaining quantities management, batch tracking from raw material to finished product, resource management and many other features have optimised the company’s material flow. Because it covers the entire intralogistics spectrum, the system ensures 100% transparency. Thanks to the dashboard with its integrated business intelligence tools, K&E can utilise the resulting optimisation potential as they see fit and work on continuously improving the system using live operational data.
2023 upgrade: Improved workflows with the new user interface
With the new upgrade in 2023, Kahmann & Ellerbrock will also be able to enjoy what is currently proving to be the most popular feature of PROLAG World: The new-look user interface (UI). The new UI is designed based on decades of experience in the WMS sector, and has grown from the requirements of multiple companies across a variety of industry sectors. It is intuitively designed, follows the principles of software ergonomics and has the ability to adapt flexibly to individual warehousing and production requirements and processes. CIM project manager Alexander Huber sees substantial benefits for the customer with the new upgrade. »For the logistics professionals at K&E, the release upgrade is more than just enhanced functionality – it also significantly improves workflow efficiency,« he explains. With no previous experience of working with the new templates, the staff first had to find their way around the new interface. »Any open questions were clarified in a live, on-site training session,« continues Alexander. Functions such as the I-point, crossdocking and list element filtering were adapted quickly and easily. Not only have the employees at K&E been proactive and have enjoyed trying out the new templates – the new design has also been extremely well received thanks to its high level of user-friendliness.

After the successful installation of the new standard version of PROLAG World, intralogistics and production at Kahmann & Ellerbrock are now fit for the future. With regular updates to PROLAG World, we bring our customers’ systems up-to-date and get them ready for future developments. This way, existing customers don’t miss out on new features such as the redesigned user interface. PROLAG World is a standard software with further solutions such as PROLAG Production, PROLAG Shipping, PROLAG Hazmat and PROLAG Transport completing the software suite. These can be added any time to a running system.
