LEA ReplyTM at LogiMAT: a WMS like a construction kit

15.02.2024

Cloud-native solution from Logistics Reply as a flexible modular system

Instead of monolithic structures, WMS provider Logistics Reply relies on a flexible and cross-location cloud-native SaaS solution – and has been doing so with LEA ReplyTM since 2015. The early adopters offer a modular system with flexible configuration options for route-, carton- or multi-order-pick-optimisation. Find out more at LogiMAT at Stand 8F37 in Hall 8.

The WMS LEA ReplyTM is compatible with most common ERP systems or shipping software solutions via RESTful APIs (interfaces) and can be flexibly connected to these systems. While many traditional warehouse management systems work with a monolithic software architecture in order to offer an individualised solution with a defined range of functions depending on the project, Logistics Reply is specialised in providing a cloud platform based on microservices - and has been doing so since 2015.

With microservices for customised development

With the AI-supported core solution LEA ReplyTM, Logistics Reply ensures that the WMS can be customised as required. »From an IT perspective, the advantages of our cloud-native solution include above all the microservices – independent components with which new processes can be individually developed – and the REST APIs – maximally flexible, open interfaces,« explains Alexander Edelmann, Associate Partner at Logistics Reply. Depending on the user's requirements, the microservices can be duplicated and new components integrated into the WMS platform. As everything is hosted in the cloud, the application can be used across multiple locations.

Picking processes improved from the user's perspective

The wide-ranging WMS modular system offers functional features such as route optimisation in the warehouse and improved multi-order picking. The system uses an algorithm to calculate the most efficient route for the picker. In the second case, an optimisation algorithm analyses the structure of the orders in the order pool and determines the best possible combinations for multi-order pick lists. This allows an employee to pick several customer orders at the same time and put them together efficiently using the shortest route. In the carton area, users can also determine the ideal packaging sizes for the goods by reading the master data stored in LEA ReplyTM. In this way, warehouse operators use significantly less cardboard packaging and also promote their company's development towards greater sustainability.
