Consafe Logistics controls WM for the Runsven Group's cut-price chain

The Runsven group has chosen Consafe Logistics to supply the Astro WMS Warehouse Management System to its warehouse in Skänninge, south Sweden
The company is expanding rapidly and plans to open 10 new ÖoB stores during2006. The logistics solution will result in several improvements throughout the warehouse including increased capacity that will be critical in helping the company achieve its aggressive expansion goals.
The Runsven Group in Skänninge owns some of the country's most well-known low-price chains and is a leading player in Sweden's low price market. ÖoB Överskottbolaget accounts for the largest share of the group with over 60 outlets. The group's other chains are Bonus, Storcks, Storckens and Engelbrektsboden.
The product range contains around 15 000 articles and includes everything from tools, household goods, leisure goods, chemical and technical articles, packaged foods and confectionery and surplus military supplies.

After its extension, Runsven's warehouse in Skänninge will have an area of 70 000 m2, one of the largest in Sweden. Around 60 operators will work here and 70 trucks will manage goods in the warehouse.
The company has now chosen Astro WMS - A Warehouse Management System renowned as one of the best. Astro WMS is a standard system with functions that are perfectly suited to the wholesale and retail trade.
Alongside the implementation of Astro WMS, Consafe Logistics will also create conditions to make loading areas more effective, increase replenishment and increase the total control of every station in the warehouse. Runsven will also introduce paperless picking.

The project is carried out together with IBS as the Runsven Group have also invested in their IBS Enterprise ERP System. The system will become operational in January 2007.
