Würth Elektronik orders extended range of functions for PSIwms

09.06.2021

To cover growing requirements and the complexity of changing intralogistics processes, Würth Elektronik eiSos GmbH & Co. KG relies on the warehouse management system PSIwms.

At the end of 2011, the global shipping warehouse for electrical parts of Würth Elektronik eiSos GmbH & Co. KG was set up. The equipment and processes of the distribution center are designed for maximum scalability and further company growth. With the completion of a third expansion and automation phase in December 2019, the company has almost doubled warehouse capacity in Waldenburg, further optimized processes and made them more efficient. In addition, the current measures already take into account a possible fourth expansion phase starting in 2023.

Employees at the Waldenburg distribution center pick around 2,000 B2B and B2C orders with more than 4,500 items every day. Nearly 30,000 items, passive components for industrial applications, are stored there for worldwide shipment. Following the latest expansion, there are almost 4,400 pallet spaces in the forklift-operated high-bay warehouse (HRL) and around 200,000 container spaces in the small parts shuttle warehouse, which has been expanded to nine aisles, available for storing the articles. Würth Elektronik eiSos controls the internal transport orders and route-optimized processes of the forklifts with the forklift control system (SLS) Transport Control integrated in PSIwms.

Highly dynamic conveyor technology, controlled by PSIwms, ensures a fast, internal material flow between incoming goods, shuttle warehouse, picking stations, packing stations and outgoing goods.
