Pilot project: STIHL Vertriebszentrale GmbH & Co. KG relies on ProGlove MARK Display in conjunction with SuPCIS-L8

As part of a pilot project, STIHL (Dieburg) decided to introduce the Mark Display from ProGlove and integrate it into the WMS SuPCIS-L8 in the logistics centre of the Stihl sales headquarters in Dieburg. The wearable scanner Mark Display from ProGlove convinces with its intuitive and efficient use in the warehouse.
Our long-standing customer STIHL develops, manufactures and distributes engine-powered equipment for forestry and agriculture as well as for landscape maintenance, the construction industry and private garden owners and is represented by 41 of its own sales and marketing companies, around 120 importers and more than 54,000 specialist dealers in over 160 countries.»A high level of quality and efficient processing of orders is our top priority at Stihl. In order to be able to achieve this goal together with our employees in the long term, we decided to integrate the Mark Display and the associated increased mobility and optimisation of ergonomics for our warehouse staff,« says Michael Kausch, Head of Sales Logistics at STIHL.
Creating customer satisfaction with increased mobility and better handling
As part of a pilot project, the wearable scanner Mark Display from ProGlove was successfully integrated into the intralogistics process and existing material flow at STIHL's logistics centre in Dieburg. In the long term, this will enable STIHL to achieve maximum efficiency in order processing, so that future customer requirements can also be met in the best possible way. »When connecting the Mark Display to our warehouse management software SuPCIS-L8, we were faced with the challenge of displaying only the information relevant to the process - together with STIHL, we found an optimal and standardised solution during joint design workshops and expanded our platform to include the ProGlove API,« says Gerd Müller, Senior Project Manager at S&P Computersysteme GmbH.
The Mark Displays at STIHL are used in the picking area for finished goods and show the employee the compartment number, the required number of the desired item and the serial number. The intuitive display of the Mark Display guides employees quickly and easily through the entire picking process. The data required for the process is stored in the WMS SuPCIS-L8 from S&P Computersysteme GmbH. At STIHL, the intelligent glove scanners communicate via Bluetooth with a terminal mounted on the forklift - the data is updated in real time without having to make any entries at the forklift terminal. Unlike standard hand-held scanners, the operator no longer has to read the feedback on the forklift terminal. With the introduction of the Mark Display, the information is now shown directly on the scanner's display - thus eliminating the need to walk to the terminal for orientation.

The Mark Display - a lightweight, ergonomic glove scanner that is positioned directly on the back of the hand - replaces traditional MDE devices in this context.
The ProGlove Mark Display leads to increased efficiency of the entire picking process in the finished goods area at STIHL. With maximum performance at minimum weight, the wearable display scanner is intuitive to use and allows employees maximum mobility in their work in the warehouse. Once donned, employees always have the handheld scanner at hand but still have their hands free and, thanks to the integrated display, have an overview of the required data at all times.
