Efficient use of available warehouse space

Advantages of dynamic warehouse management with the WMS SuPCIS-L8

A diverse range of articles from small parts to large-volume goods and cable drums requires maximum flexibility in warehousing and order picking for every company. Diverse articles of the most varied sizes and characteristics require load carriers and storage locations with the most varied dimensions - this makes the search for storage locations very complex on the one hand and results in a multitude of different required storage location types on the other. As a result, companies are often faced with the challenge of having a number of free spaces of one type and a shortage of another type of storage space. This makes storage particularly difficult or inefficient. In addition, the changing product range means that the existing storage space has to be regularly reconfigured and (re)structured. This does not have to be the case!

Through dynamic bin management with the WMS SuPCIS-L8, users get maximum flexibility and the best possible storage capacity out of their warehouse. In practice, the space between two cross carriers is divided into locations. Then it is defined how many spaces of this type a load carrier requires. Here it is important to bear in mind that this can be quite different depending on the storage area. For storage, the system checks where enough adjacent spaces are free and - if available - suggests the corresponding space. At the same time, it often happens that there are special sizes that can only be used for very specific load carriers. By means of our WMS SuPCIS-L8 and the process stored there, it is also possible to define and specify overflows.

Further possibilities with this kind of the stockyard management in SuPCIS-L8 arise also by the numerous configuration possibilities. Thus the possibility exists to configure a field as dynamically assignable or for each field size only the permissible dynamic assignments. For the user it is however likewise so possible per storage area to define the size of the load carrier concretely - so the same load carrier in different areas can need differently many dynamic standard places. If the dynamic storage bin allocation is not sufficient, explicit overflows can also be configured.
The result in consequence of a dynamic storage location management with SuPCIS-L8: with a dynamic storage the available storage space can be used more efficiently. The still free spaces are available for each stored good and the storage capacity is thus ideally fully utilized. This leads to increased efficiency and more flexibility in warehouse allocation!
