Infraserv Logistics relies on Körber's SAP software solution for new hazardous goods warehouse

02.05.2023

Infraserv Logistics relies on SAP software solution from Körber for new hazardous goods warehouse.

The provider of complete logistics solutions for the chemical and pharmaceutical industries will in future benefit from a version of SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) specially configured by Körber at its new hazardous materials warehouse in Industriepark Höchst.

This is part of a six-phase project in which the manual warehouses in Höchst, Fechenheim and Gersthofen as well as the automated high-bay warehouse in Höchst will also be converted to the new software. Infraserv Logistics has already successfully carried out various projects with Körber since 2006, which is why the supply chain technology expert is very familiar with the processes of the full-service provider. As a result, neither processes nor interfaces will change for Infraserv Logistics and the changeover can be carried out without disrupting daily operations. In the course of the new building at Industriepark Höchst, the logistics provider is investing in new, future-proof software that can be seamlessly integrated into the SAP S/4HANA system. With this decision, Infraserv Logistics benefits from a homogeneous system landscape and a solution from a single source.

Thorsten Gehret, project manager at Infraserv Logistics, comments on the cooperation: »With the expansion of our warehouses came the decision to harmonise our system and to control all processes via SAP EWM in the future. This enables us to increase process and inventory transparency and reduce interfaces. In addition, we can provide further value-added additional services for our customers.«

In addition to the implementation of SAP EWM, Körber is integrating profitable add-ons developed in-house into the system. Hazardous materials and dangerous goods management, a forklift control system and a portal framework enhanced with SAP Fiori optimally complement Infraserv Logistics' system landscape. The SAP complete solution enables improved integration into the plant technology as well as a high degree of digitalisation. SAP EWM can be flexibly expanded and is thus already able to meet the increasing demands of the market.

Karl-Heinz Kern, CEO Körber Supply Chain Consulting, adds: »Our focus is on long-term partnerships that accompany our customers as they grow. By customising SAP EWM and integrating it into the existing system landscape, we create a platform that can easily keep up with ambitious goals. Through our future-proof solution, Infraserv Logistics benefits from optimal efficiency.«
