Bring/Posten Norway get complete control with Consafe Logistics CESAM

27.05.2010

Bring/Posten Norway has chosen Consafe Logistics successful concept CESAM for automatic control, services and upgrades of their approx. 8500 PDA units - which the companies drivers uses on a daily basis.

"One of the objectives with this investment is to minimize our service costs for PDA units and to be able to use the full range of units. We save time and money with the possibility to handle upgrades and installations by remote control and it gives us a complete overview of our PDA units – at all times", says Johan Ronæs, VP IT Bring/Norway Post.

Today Bring/Norway Post has about 700 users of CESAM, and at the end of June 2010 they will have about 8500 users. Before the investment of CESAM, all service, upgrades and other device handling needed to be done manually, i.e. the unit was sent away during a longer period (15-25 days) for service. The company invested in a PDA unit pool - in order to back up the units that were sent away for service, resulting in huge costs and time consuming work. For Bring/Posten Norway "Proof of Delivery" is business critical and a well functioning PDA unit is crucial for every driver.

CESAM ,Consafe Logistics concept for service and device management, contains PDA Reporting, Click2Track, Device Management, order handling and services*. CESAM have today approx 2500 users.

"Every company that needs to handle a large amount of PDAs has challenges and want to know what their investment does – is it producing and is it effective enough? They want control and to be able to trust that their solutions is using the hardware investment in a effective way. With CESAM they get cost effective control every day", says John-Eirik Falch, VP Mobile Solutions Consafe Logistics

CESAM opens the door for a friction free handling of PDA units during their lifetime. Companies can easily obtain information i.e. , is the unit upgraded with the latest software, check user usage, safety/security, access for non authorized users etc, and all details collected generates a great basis for cost control.

John-Eirik Falch comments: ”CESAM supports Bring/NorwayPost "day-to-day" business and gives them a possibility for control and an logistics advantage. We are very pleased that Bring/NorwayPost has chosen our concept and are looking forward to a long-term partnership.
