Opening of the Corporate Headquarters and Development Centre

12.10.2010

Styrian KNAPP AG, worldwide leading supplier of integrated intralogistic solutions and turnkey systems in warehouse automation and warehouse logistics software, sets the standards – not only as technological leader, but also architectural.

With the construction of the Corporate Headquarters and Development Centre in Hart bei Graz, the company now concentrates its software expertise at the Hart bei Graz location.

Concentration of software expertise

Due to strong demands and successful growth in software, KNAPP is expanding its software capacity. By the end of the year, more than 500 software engineers will be working at KNAPP. With more than 1,200 active systems and an average of more than one new startup per week, KNAPP is the leading supplier of logistics software. KiSoft (KNAPP integrated software) optimally covers all requirements for warehouse management and control using scalable standard functionalities. Based on years of experience and sector know-how, especially in the pharmaceutical, commercial and textile sectors, customers today profit from best practice processes. From small manual warehouses to fully-automatic high-performance warehouses, at KNAPP customers receive everything from one source. Each year more than three million euros is invested at KNAPP for the further development of software solutions.

Commitment to our Austrian location and signal for further expansion

The street-side façade of continuous glass is the company's new calling card and represents a clear commitment to our Austrian location. Both clouds and the Hart landscape are reflected in the building's façade providing an exceptional contrast of countryside against high-tech innovation.

The building is a powerful symbol for the disciplined course of expansion at KNAPP AG, also in the year of the financial crisis. Ground breaking took place in fall 2008. With strategic perspective and some courage, the necessary requirements for further growth of the group were created. "The firm confidence in the strength of the company and employees encouraged us to see this project through, even in economically difficult times" said Eduard Wünscher, CEO of KNAPP AG, with obvious pride.

The building is equipped with the most modern building services engineering and is, thanks to the future-oriented planning and construction, highly energy-efficient and environmentally friendly – an important contribution to the environment by KNAPP AG. The spacial design is open, and work areas alternate with islands for communication. The use of specific colours and materials in the work areas is meant to increase concentration. The communication areas in contrast are colourfully designed to encourage creativity. Numerous furnishings for communication provide variety: for example, the wing chair with winged extensions at the head that offers a quiet space for telephone calls, or the arena that has state-of-the art infrastructure for presentations and discussions in small groups.

Media artist Kriesche showcases warehouse logistics

On the building's ground floor media artist Univ. Prof. Mag. Richard Kriesche has artistically showcased the world of warehouse logistics and KNAPP. It provokes emotions: visitors experience the dimensions and dynamics of KNAPP warehouse systems in the KNAPP MOVIE, a 270° projection. The world of warehouse logistics can now be witnessed. The design of the glass front and the Data Matrix artwork are also his work.
