Simon Hegele to build a new logistics centre with TGW

28.10.2011

Simon Hegele is going to build a new logistics centre at its site in Frankfurt/Main (Raunheim in Germany). TGW systems integration received the order as general contractor for a new automated mini-load storage for totes and cartons.

Simon Hegele is an owner operated, long-standing logistics service contractor with over 2,000 employees and more than 90 years of experience concerning complete supply chain handling. For the distribution of spare parts Hegele is going to build a new logistics centre of 50,000 square metres (approximately 538,195 square feet) at Raunheim, near Frankfurt/Main. One part of the logistics centre will be an automated mini-load storage system for cartons and totes, which will handle the spare parts processing for diverse customers of Hegele.

The automated mini-load system consists of a five-aisle warehouse with Mustang Evolution stacker cranes and Twister load handling devices, a pick-up and delivery area with ten goods receiving stations, eight picking and four multifunctional working stations, which will be valuable for the VAS-handling (value added services) and the shipping. CI_LOG will be responsible for the installation's coordination.
