Team warehouse logistics at CeBIT

17.02.2012

From March 6 to 10 one of the most important events in the digital industry will once again take place in Hannover: CeBIT 2012

Team warehouse logistics of the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics IML Dortmund will be participating in the trade fair and presenting the features and functionality of the WMS Database – the world's largest portal for the functional comparison of Warehouse Management Systems.

The WMS Database on warehouse-logistics.com functions as a marketing platform for WMS vendors as well as an information platform for WMS users and provides all of the information and data necessary for customers to select the most suitable WMS for their company.

By listing their WMS in the WMS database, WMS vendors receive an unbiased validation of their system by Team warehouse logistics. Using a detailed questionnaire as the basis, the team validates more than 3 000 individual aspects of the system to see if the specified functionality is available in the WMS and implemented in projects by the vendor. After the system has been successfully validated, the WMS receives a validation seal that is a certification mark in the WMS industry.

WMS users can use the WMS Online Selection tool to find the most optimal WMS for their warehouse. The WMS Online Selection tool is based on the WMS Database and allows the user to use comprehensive search criteria to quickly test the systems against quality and functional aspects and perform a target search for a WMS. Team warehouse logistics also offer consulting services and can provide assistance and guidance to WMS users throughout the entire WMS selection and implementation process. The WMS Market Report, published on a regular basis, helps WMS vendors and users better understand the complex WMS market.

To help companies expand their networks, the team launched a special version of the WMS Database on warehouse-logistics.fr. This database is tailored for the French market and helps participants become active in the French market. Since last fall participants can also expand into the Italian market with the help of warehouse-logistics.it.

You can find out more about warehouse logistics from March 6 to 10 M at CeBIT in Hall 5, Stand B 50 (Forum “Logistics IT”)! You can also hear Tim Geißen, the project leader for the development and internationalization of the database, speak on the topic “Warehouse to go – mobile software applications in everyday logistics” on March 7 from 10 to 12:30.
