Team warehouse logistics wins the IT Innovation Award for 2012

26.03.2012

The Dortmund-based Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics has won the 2012 IT Innovation Award in the category “Industry and Logistics” for the world’s largest database for Warehouse Management Systems on the portal warehouse-logistics.com.

The coveted award was presented for the ninth time at CeBIT 2012. The jury recognized the WMS platform of the Fraunhofer IML’s Team warehouse logistics as the best IT solution: one that can help small and medium-sized enterprises boost their competitiveness.

The IT Innovation Award was awarded on March 9 at CeBIT 2012 under the auspices of the Federal Commissioner for Information Technology and IBM Deutschland GmbH. From a field of 2580 applicants, the 100-member jury of experts selected the IT solutions with the highest degree of practical relevance, innovative, and suitability for small and medium-sized enterprises.

The award-winning WMS Database on warehouse-logistics.com is the world’s largest portal for comparing the features and functionality of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). In its dual role as a marketing platform for WMS vendors and an information platform for WMS users, it provides all of the information and data that is necessary for customers to select the most suitable WMS for their company.
By participating in the WMS Database, WMS vendors benefit from having their WMS validated by the neutral Team warehouse logistics. After it has been successfully validated, the WMS is awarded a validation seal – the quality mark in the industry. WMS users can use the WMS Online Selection tool to help them search the database to find the WMS that is most suited to their warehouse. An extensive list of criteria can be used to quickly test the relevant quality and functional features of the systems.
