New Members Elected to the Warehouse Logistics Advisory Committee

18.04.2012

An election was held at the first meeting of the year, which took place during the intralogistics trade show LogiMAT 2012, to select the new members of the advisory committee for Warehouse Logistics , the online platform of the Fraunhofer IML.

The elected representatives from the group of vendors of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) will spend the next three years helping to drive the development of the quality and content of the WMS Database on warehouse-logistics.com.

The Warehouse Logistics Advisory Committee was founded in 2009 during the LogiMAT in Stuttgart. The committee has an advisory function and its role is to support and promote the future development of both the quality and content as well as the visibility of the WMS Database through events, research projects, and publications and, in doing so, this will make them one of the integral components of the WMS Community.

The committee is made up of a maximum of ten representatives from the industry and corresponds to the vendor structure of the WMS Database on warehouse-logistics.com. In addition to having an affiliation with a vendor listed in the database, the member must also have proven experience and expertise in the field of Warehouse Management Systems in order to win the vote. The term of membership is a maximum of three years, although it is possible for a previous member to be re-elected, and each participating WMS vendor has the chance to apply for the next available spot.

The committee meets three times a year and uses presentations, progress reports, and intense discussions to further the development of the database. Representatives from the following companies will spend the next three years working together to find new and creative ideas for making the WMS market even more transparent: Knapp AG, Egemin GmbH, Jungheinrich AG, Vanderlande Industries GmbH, Inconso AG, TEAM GmbH, S&P Computersysteme GmbH, prismat GmbH, RedPrarie Inc., and SAP AG.

The largest database in the world for WMS on warehouse-logistics.com brings vendors and users together like no other platform and provides all of the information necessary to select a suitable WMS. Vendors are given the unique opportunity to have their WMS validated by Team warehouse logistics and receive a validation seal as a quality mark. Users can use WMS Online Selection and more than 3000 search criteria to find the most optimal WMS for their warehouse.
