Results of the current validation round now online

01.08.2012

After the extensive review of the questionnaire which is used to validate the systems participating in the WMS database, the results from the latest round of validation are now available to WMS users.

From today onwards, the supplemented and updated aspects are integrated into the search functions of the WMS online selection so that those searching the WMS database are provided support, taking into account the latest findings in the WMS selection process.

For more than eleven years, the WMS database at warehouse-logistics.com has represented the high degree of information interchange between WMS providers and users and allows a tailored-made selection when it comes to searching for a suitable Warehouse Management System. For WMS providers it serves as a marketing platform so that customers and other interested parties get a closer look at their system's scope and functioning in a transparent manner. On the platform WMS users can obtain comprehensive information about the systems, and by using the WMS online selection and more than 3,000 search criteria, find the WMS which best suits their company.

The validation of the systems listed in the database is based on the responses to a questionnaire covering about 3,000 criteria. At the beginning of the year more than 650 aspects of this questionnaire were updated and supplemented. Thus, for example, the so-called KO criteria were subjected to a comprehensive review; these allow WMS users to carry out a quick pre-selection of an appropriate system through the free express access to warehouse-logistics.com.
As a result of the more detailed specification of providers and product types, it is now possible for users to specifically compare different solutions of a particular type of provider or to exclude them from the analysis from the start. In addition, insights from the completely revised chapter on the subject of order picking are available, as well as on the questions of batch and serial number management, and expiration date.
