18.12.2012

Jungheinrich Acquires Graz-Based Warehousing and Material Flow Engineering Software Company ISA GmbH

Jungheinrich is substantially enlarging the footprint it has as logistics system provider. To this end, Jungheinrich AG acquired the remaining 75 per cent of ISA - Innovative Systemlösungen für die Automation GmbH, which is headquartered in Graz, Austria, and is one of the leading warehousing and material flow engineering software companies. The parties agreed not to disclose the acquisition price. The Hamburg-based intralogistics specialist had acquired a 25 per cent stake in ISA as early as November 2009. In their close, years-long cooperation, Jungheinrich and ISA have successfully carried out a large number of joint projects. ISA will remain an autonomous company at its current location and will be assigned to Jungheinrich's Logistics Systems Sales Division.

With effect from January 1, 2013, Markus Skof (33), the current project and key account manager for Jungheinrich at ISA, and Dr. Markus Heinecker (36), the current head of warehouse management systems with Jungheinrich, will become the managing directors of the Graz company.

Since it was founded in 1989, ISA GmbH has established itself as one of the most qualified software companies in the field of warehousing and material flow engineering. Integrated, holistic material flow and warehouse logistics solutions are the company's core competencies, complemented by all associated services such as project engineering, implementation, training and service. ISA currently employs some 70 people.

Jungheinrich ranks among the world’s leading companies in the material handling equipment, warehousing and material flow engineering sectors. The company is an intralogistics service and solution provider with manufacturing operations, which offers its customers a comprehensive range of forklift trucks, shelving systems, services and advice. Jungheinrich shares are traded on all German stock exchanges.
