Supply Chain Execution Solutions to Complement ERP Application at Engineering Group’s Security Systems Division

UTRECHT and ATLANTA - February 15, 2005 - Manhattan Associates®, Inc. (Nasdaq: MANH), the global leader in providing supply chain execution and optimisation solutions, today announced that Bosch Security Systems, a division of Bosch group and one of the world’s leading suppliers of security systems and components, has chosen the Warehouse Management and Performance Management components of Manhattan Associates’ Integrated Logistics Solutions™. Bosch Security Systems will leverage the scalability and advanced functionality of Manhattan Associates’ Warehouse Management solution for Open Systems to support distribution centres (DCs) in the Netherlands, the U.S. and Singapore. Manhattan Associates’ supply chain execution and optimisation solutions will work in a complementary fashion to the back-office systems of Bosch’s ERP application provider SAP.

Bosch Security Systems evaluated several vendor offerings, but chose Manhattan Associates for the clearly demonstrated ability of its solutions to work alongside SAP, for the calibre and experience of its people and for the strength of its support network in all key business regions of the world. René Deist, director of IT at Bosch Security Systems, commented, “For the volume that we deal with on a day-to-day basis, we needed a warehouse management solution that would not only help streamline our respective DCs’ needs, but also handle the demands of a globally expanding business and client base. We are confident that Manhattan Associates’ solutions and its people will help us do this, enabling us to minimise operational costs while maximising our profitability by increasing efficiency within and between all of our key distribution facilities.”

Among the benefits Bosch Security Systems expects from Manhattan Associates’ solutions are:

  • Reduced inventory levels, higher order accuracy, better resource allocation and shorter cycle times;
  • Improved scalability to efficiently handle fulfilment for its diverse and growing product lines and increasing order volumes;
  • Graphic representation of real-time and historic DC activities for extended visibility and insight into specific warehouse activities, inventory and labour, as well as customers, vendors and shippers, to help to eliminate slow, manual reporting.

“We are pleased to be working with Bosch Security Systems to streamline their distribution processes across the globe,” said Jeff Baum, senior vice president of international operations at Manhattan Associates. “A diverse company with product lines that serve everything from schools, hospitals and airports to factories, households and retailers, Bosch Security Systems will be able to leverage our flexible and adaptable supply chain execution solutions to secure real-time visibility into their distribution landscape, allowing them to optimise resource allocation, lower costs and increase efficiency.”
