RPC Tedeco-Gizeh and inconso Go Live with a Production and Warehouse Site

18.07.2018

RPC Tedeco-Gizeh modernizes its logistics center with inconsoWMS X

The packaging specialist RPC Tedeco-Gizeh has started modernizing its factory and distribution logistics at Bouxwiller in Alsace, France. The project focuses on improving performance, service quality and providing complete processing from a single source. inconso completed the first stage during the last few months with the implementation of software, while Aberle has just begun with modernizing and integrating the technological components. Accounting on many years of experience in retrofitting, the project will be realized by means of minimizing downtime, which ensures smooth migration of the production and warehouse site.

Due to the company's growth, the Bouxwiller site has grown continuously in recent years and employs up to five teams in three shifts in the production areas. Components, semi-finished and finished products are stored using two stacker cranes with 13,000 locations, which record an average output of 500 pallets per day in the goods receiving and goods issue areas. The capacity is 35 double cycles per stacker crane.

A special feature: After 25 years, RPC is continuing its collaboration with inconso by implementing the warehouse management system inconsoWMS eXtended (inconsoWMS X), which is the latest release of the solution introduced over two decades ago. Within seven months, inconsoWMS X was implemented and connected to the SAP ERP being used. The latest release ensures that all production supply and distribution logistics processes run smoothly. Thanks to the material flow control component and high configurability of inconsoWMS X, all intralogistics processes are controlled efficiently. This includes the interfaces to the existing PLC, the conveyor systems and stacker cranes with a simultaneous increase in productivity. The first stage is a success, which Aberle will use in gradually developing retrofit processes that are still missing for automated system components.
