Traditional brand Grand Mère upgrades

Software upgrade in one day

The French pasta manufacturer, Heimburger SA, with its headquarters in Marlenheim in Alsace, stores its products in a threeaisle automatic pallet warehouse installed by viastore as main contractor in 2003. At the time, the scope of supply covered the conveyor equipment including controls, the racking system with three viapal storage/retrieval machines with telescopic forks for double-depth storage, the material flow system and the viad@tCLM warehouse software. This software managed the stor age locations, pallets and stock. Storage and retrieval orders came from a host system running on an AS400 server.

With the passage of time, Heimburger's requirements for the software have changed. Features such as FEFO management (First Expired – First Out) were now in demand. viastore has therefore converted the system to the latest version, viad@tCLM 7.1. This upgrade ensures better performance from the system and provides the option of easily incorporating further viad@t features and functions in the future. The replacement and commissioning of the upgrade took just one day.

Heimburger is one of the last French family-run companies to produce pasta – and at the same time the only French company with “Spätzle“ in its product range. The company produces a total of around 13,000 tons of pasta each year.
