Company description

Gigaton GmbH is a leading provider for standardized warehouse management systems with particular focus on customers operating in the logistics services sector. The company, featuring 50 employees, has been established in the market since 1996 and has already carried out successfully more than 300 projects, in particular in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Regarding its warehouse management system LogoS C/S, the company attaches a great deal of importance to maintaining a wide range of functionalities of its products, which guarantees an extensive use for all industries.

The complete software development process for LogoS® and the provision of services in the field of support, project management and technology as well as data center operations are certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2008. Regarding the traceability of materials, LogoS is also subject to strict compliance with GMP, HACCP and EN 178/2010. Projects also fulfill all GAMP5 requirements.

History

1996 Foundation of GIGATON GmbH and initial development of WMS LogoS C/S.
1997 First pilot operation of LogoS C/S by renowned and leading logistics service providers.
1999 Realization and implementation of an extensive dangerous goods management in LogoS C/S.
2002 Cooperation with scientific institutes of the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft in Germany IML (Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics) and UMSICHT (Fraunhofer Institute for Environmental, Safety, and Energy Technology UMSICHT) in order advance the dangerous goods management.
2003 Development and implementation of default interfaces to ERP SAP R/3 incl. certification by SAP.
2004 Implementation of communication systems for the connection to automatic material flow systems.
2005 Connection of Pick-by-Voice and Pick-By-Light systems incl. respective control modules to LogoS C/S.
2006 Connection of RFID technology to LogoS C/S during a pilot.
2007
- Initial certification according to GMP, HACCP as well as the European directive EU 178/2010 for batch traceability, ED and further goods movements.
- Changeover of all modules to graphical user interfaces. Integration of LogoS C/S 2.2 in the WMS market.
2009 Initial certification according to DIN ISO 9001:2008 in the field of software development, IT services, organizational consulting, training courses and data center services.
2010 Gigaton provides compact versions »Compact« and »Compact+« for small and medium-sized enterprises.
2011
- Gigaton celebrates its 15th anniversary
- Flexibly designable and user-friendly user interfaces are implemented in the standard software
2012 Implementation of an extensive production order management and a load carrier management in the standard software LogoS C/S
2013 Relocation of the Gigaton GmbH premises from Viernheim to Heddesheim due to structural growth
2014
- Within the context of a project realization in the pharmaceutical industry, the software has been validated according to the strict criteria of GAMP 5 (Good Automated Manufacturing Practice).
- Gigaton starts setteling to a new development platform based an Microsoft .net

2019
- Gigaton implementates the first LogoS 3 Application, partly in web environment.

LogoS 3

Description

LogoS C/S is a standardized warehouse management system solution which can be used in nearly all fields of logistics. It is characterized in particular by its wide range of functions and user-friendliness as well as its easy integration into existing process environments.

Depending on each sector-specific requirement and the individual need of the customer, LogoS can be configured according to the respective picking and storage strategies. From pick-by-voice, pick-by-light, RFID, to connections of automations, picking per radio data transmission to conventionally paper-based solutions, Gigaton’s WMS LogoS provides an individual software package optimized for the customer. One of the main issues is always to find a good balance between as high a degree of standardization as possible and individual process customizing.

Target group

Food sector, industrial environment, wholesale and retail, textiles industry, field of electronics, engineering industry or chemical or pharmaceutical industry, LogoS can be deployed in all sectors.

The Gigaton company provides the full version Enterprise for larger installations and for smaller and medium-sized installations the turnkey compact versions Compact and Compact+.

LogoS is available in German, English and French.

The software is used for manual, partly automated as well as fully automated warehouses.

Features

LogoS C/S is characterized in particular by its flexible, open and cross-sector fields of application.

Major particularities of the system lie in the integrated management of dangerous substances and dangerous goods including the necessary mixed storage bans.

LogoS C/S is based on the orientation towards the up- and downstream transportation processes with a transport planning, SSCC processing, Dock and Yard management as well as the implemented logistics and CEP service provider connections.

LogoS C/S provides a fully implemented production order management which allows to manage parts lists for production orders. Furthermore, it is possible to define dedicated packaging provisions and to manage load carriers.

In addition, LogoS C/S has a forklift control and picking system, a performance appraisal and billing system for batch, serial number and ED management, a graphical MIS system and a system for monitoring resource utilization as well as standardized connections to leading ERP systems like SAP R/3, Navision etc.

LogoS C/S is structured module-based. So it is possible to buy the software licenses for single modules. Furthermore Gigaton pursues a concurrent user model for the pricing.
